This is my last garden related post of this summer... sigh, where did it all go?! This year has flown by so fast I can hardly remember it. But I have a lot to show for it as well.
I was feeling frustrated over the lack of progress on my bathroom reno plumbing so I turned all my energy into painting (what else is new?). This time, I went outside to paint my garden benches. I don't have any before shots except for this poor excuse of a photo that was actually a shot of my bird bath garden... lol!

| This is roughly what the next bench looked like when I started |
I painted flowers onto the storm window I have hanging on my deck.
Here is Maggie supervising the work, as usual. She loves to be involved!
The first few panels of my door fence are shown below.
I painted latex paint on the glass window of the one door and then sponged extra paint over the top to look like a tree and a garden bench. It adds just a bit more privacy. The other door had no glass in it, so I cut a piece of lattice down and painted the whole thing. A little homemade "Herbs" sign gives it a country look.
And this is what I was working on when disaster struck. I was building the roof for my little greenhouse.
While working on it, it was obvious that the greenhouse was not level any more so I was pushing it over on the pallet to find the most level spot when one of the panes of glass shattered sending huge shards into my knee and lower leg. Luckily I was not seriously injured but 12 stitches on my knee and lower leg has prevented me from doing any diy'ing for two weeks... and now I'm off on vacation for another two weeks.
Hope you all have a wonderful week and I'll catch you later!!
Cheers!

Your bench is lovely and that painted window really caught my eye! I'm curious how you hung it up. We have vinyl siding and my husband is always afraid to screw anything to it. I also love the doors. I'm sorry your greenhouse roof broke and even sorrier you had to have stitches. Ouch!
ReplyDeleteI love the job you've done painting your garden seats. Well done! I love the colours you've used too.
ReplyDeleteOh no! 12 stitches ... diy'ing can be seriously dangerous!
