"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway. For you see, in the end, it is between you and God.
It never was between you and them anyway."
-Mother Teresa
In addition to this, I finally finished a piece of art that I started working on before Christmas. It was another "healing" piece for me. I am very proud of it and when I read Mother Teresa's words today, this painting instantly came to mind. I think they belong together.
| I am so in love with earth tones right now! Glorious greens, yellows, grays and browns. "Wind & Light" 24x24 Acrylic on wrapped canvas |
Beautiful words--so true.

Lovely! Lovely words and beautiful painting!
ReplyDeleteIt is like the colors in your painting harmoniously came together to create a lovely image, so do as a child of God be the ambassadors of peace to all men. The quote made me think of this :)

Oh Anne, both the painting and the quote are SO beautiful! You are very talented. The quote reminds me of something my Aunt (who just turned 87) recently told me. When I asked what advice she would give, she said, "Just live day by day and be kind." :)
